  • Is vote to earn gambling?
  • Here is my honest answer: no.

Is vote to earn gambling? Here is my honest answer: no. A round is not a prediction market. An event contract pays on a real-world event. A round pays on what happened inside the round, under rules published in a contract on Base. I am not a lawyer, and I will not tell you what a regulator thinks of our game. What I can do is show you what a round is, what the June 2026 proposal covered, and where access really does depend on where you live.

Is vote to earn gambling, or is a round a different animal?

Is vote to earn gambling? No. A round is a game with published rules, and the whole thing settles onchain. An event contract is a different thing. It is a position on something outside the platform: a ball game, an election, a call somebody else makes. That is the line. It is the only line that matters when you read a Kalshi headline and wonder if it is about us.

Here is the part people get wrong. We do not list contracts. We do not quote a market. Nobody takes the other side of your vote at a price. You send $TTS to a profile. The round closes. Then the rules that decide a round run the same way for every wallet in it.

What I will not do is tell you how a regulator would label it. That is not my call. Anyone who says otherwise is selling you certainty they do not have.

What did the CFTC actually propose on June 10, 2026?

A framework for reviewing event contracts one at a time. On June 10, 2026 the Commission issued a proposed rule on the types of event contracts that can be listed on CFTC-registered prediction markets, and it would replace blanket prohibitions with a contract-by-contract review, with public comments due by July 27, 2026. A proposal, not a final rule.

Sports is where most of the attention went. Many broad-outcome sports contracts, including final scores, point differentials, season-long statistics and tournament advancement, would stay permitted, while contracts on the occurrence or severity of injuries, refereeing decisions, altercations during games and youth sporting events are given as examples likely to be found contrary to the public interest.

Read that list again. Every item is an outside event. Something happening to other people, that a user takes a position on. Now ask what the outside event is in a round of voting. There isn’t one.

What is the real difference between an event contract and one round?

Five things, and each one is checkable before you ever place a vote.

That last one is the part I would check first on any game, ours included. Rules you can read beat rules somebody describes to you. We wrote more about that in how the pool cannot be rigged.

Can I play from my state, or does it depend on where I live?

It depends on where you live. That is a question for your local law, not for me. The fights in the news are about sports event contracts on the big platforms. As of August 2026, Nevada has the most restrictive posture with the major platforms blocked, while Massachusetts, Michigan and Washington limit sports event contracts under court orders.

Those orders name those platforms and those contracts. They say nothing about us. Still, decide for yourself whether an adult-oriented game is fine where you are. The app asks you to confirm exactly that.

Here is what we ask, in plain words. Everyone using the app or the bot confirms they are 18 or older. Your first profile submission takes a one-time ID and selfie check. It confirms you are 18 or older, and that the ID, the selfie and the photo show the same person. We record that with your wallet address and a timestamp. None of this is legal advice. If you are unsure, ask a lawyer where you live.

How does a round pay, and who gets a share?

Without a club, the split is 35% to the top voter, 35% to the winning profile’s wallet, 10% to the charity wallet and 20% to the house. If the profile was entered with a registered club code, it is 35% to the top voter, 35% to the profile, 10% to charity, 10% to the club’s wallet and 10% to the house.

The top voter is the wallet that voted the most $TTS in total on the winning profile during that round. On a tie, the wallet that reached the highest total first keeps the place. At settlement the contract mints three Round Trophy NFTs: one to the winning profile, one to the top voter, one to the house. Votes on profiles that did not win are sent to the burn address.

A round lasts one week and closes Sunday night, US Eastern time, which onchain is Monday 04:59:00 UTC. Up to 50 approved profiles can compete. A round with no votes has no winner, no payout and no trophies. The 10% charity share is fixed in the contract and goes to the wallet the site labels Polaris Project donations.

What do I need before I cast my first vote?

A wallet on Base and a small amount of ETH for gas. Base mainnet is chain ID 8453, and every transaction there needs gas in ETH. If that sentence was the confusing part, start with why you want a play wallet and then how to connect it.

The short version of the mechanics. The minimum vote is 5 $TTS. Votes are final: once placed they cannot be withdrawn or reduced, though you may add more during the round and vote on more than one profile. A wallet with no eligible stake can vote at most 500 $TTS in a single vote transaction, and it may vote again.

A new wallet gets a one-time signup bonus of 500 $TTS when it first connects. We pay it from our own wallet. So you can play at the 5 $TTS minimum without buying anything. We also match a wallet’s first vote 1:1, once per wallet, up to 1,000 $TTS. There is a daily cap on both. Verify any address carefully before you send: transactions on Base are irreversible.

Frequently asked questions

When do public comments on the CFTC prediction market rule close?

Comments were due by July 27, 2026, according to law firm analysis of the proposed rule. A proposal is not a final rule. It can change before anyone adopts it. That is why I do not predict how it lands.

Does Temptation Token list anything on Kalshi or Polymarket?

No. $TTS rounds run only on our own voting contract on Base mainnet. The token contract is 0x5570eA97d53A53170e973894A9Fa7feb5785d3b9, a plain ERC-20 with 18 decimals and no proxy. We are not on any exchange that lists event contracts. We do not offer them.

What happens to the $TTS voted on profiles that lose?

After the payouts, every $TTS left in the voting contract is sent to the burn address 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD. That happens in the same settlement transaction, so you can read it onchain rather than take my word for it. The prize pool itself is never topped up from anywhere else.

Can one profile take over a whole round?

A vote is refused if it would lift that profile above 40% of all $TTS voted in the round. The one exception is while that profile holds every vote cast so far, since there is nothing else in the round yet. The cap is enforced by the contract, not by a moderator’s decision.

How do I get a profile into a round?

Upload a photo in the app’s Submit tab. Each submission costs 5 $TTS paid to the house and is non-refundable whether the photo is approved or rejected, and a wallet can make up to 3 submissions per week. Photos must be safe for work, clothed, with no nudity and no minors, and an admin reviews every one.

The Bottom Line

A round is not an event contract. The news about federal rulemaking and state court orders is about a different product than the one I built. If you want the fair, fast and readable version, you can check it yourself: the rules are in a contract on Base, the split is fixed there, and the draw is random and verifiable. $TTS is a utility token for playing the contest.

So here is the one thing to try. Read the what it is page, decide whether the game is legal and sensible where you live, then open the app at app.temptationtoken.io and vote once, at the minimum, in one round. One round, one vote. If something about the rules still reads badly to you, email me at jim@temptationtoken.io and say so. Otherwise, come join us.
